Dandruff can be seen in all ages, from babies to the elderly. Dandruff is a very common skin condition that most people experience regardless of age or ethnicity at some point in their lives. It affects not only the scalp, but also the ears, eyebrows, nose sides and beard.

Some people are simply more prone to dandruff, while others experience periodic cycles of clearing and periodic flare – ups. Dandruff typically appears on the scalp like dry flaky skin, sometimes with red inflamed skin.

Severe dandruff can be a very frustrating and difficult condition. To treat resistant cases, a continuous combination of shampoos, washes, and creams and lotions may be required. Overall, dandruff treatments are safe and highlyeffective.

Increased oil production and secretion and increased numbers of normal skin yeasts are possible causes for dandruff. The immune system can also play a role, but poor hygiene and infrequent shampooing and washing can also trigger dandruff or make things worse.

Dandruff can be caused by:

  • Seborrhoeic Dermatitis – this is a common skin condition associated with skin yeast overgrowth, which can cause the scalp, face, and other areas of the body to become red, itchy and scaly.
  • Tinea Capitis – also called scalp ringworm, this is a fungal infection of the scalp.
  • Eczema – a common skin condition that makes the skin dry, red, flaccid and itchy.
  • Allergic Contact Dermatitis – allergic reaction to scalp products such as hair coloring, hair spray and hair gel.
  • Psoriasis – a skin condition that can cause crusty patches on the skin.

Although it is not curable, with proper skin and hair hygiene it is usually quite easily controlled. You can say goodbye to dandruff with a simple ingredient that you have in your kitchen — LEMON! Lemon juice is naturally proven to get rid of dandruff. It contains citric acid which helps fight against dandruff from the hair follicles’ roots.
