The most common skin disease treated by doctors is acne, commonly referred to as pimples. But not all acne is the same. Acne can be categorized into red bumps and blackheads or whiteheads. For the blackheads and whiteheads, we’re here to help you overcome this issue.
Blackheads are referred to as “open comedones”, which are small dark spots on the skin. A whitehead is reffered as a “closed comedo”. It is a step towards clearer skin to know more about what causes comedones and how to treat them.
Blackheads are usually filled with plugs of keratin, sebum and sloughed-off cells and because of a chemical reaction, this gives the material in the follicle the typical black color. Whiteheads on the other hand are follicles that are filled with the same material as blackheads, but have only a microscopic opening to the skin surface. And since the air cannot properly reach the follicle, the material remains white because it’s not oxidized.
There is no miracle cure to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads, but there are some amazing home remedies that can do wonders on your skin.
